We are a family living in Turkey – Istanbul and we take care of stray animals all around Turkey. We are not an organization, we only try to help stray animals in need. There are a lot of organizations who support us in our mission. However, they can only support us spiritually because unfortunately there aren’t much people in Turkey who donate to Animal Rights Associations. These organizations who support us are HAYTAP www.haytap.org (Animal Rights Federation), DOHAYKO www.dohayko.org ( Protection of Nature and Animals Association), IHHD www.istanbulhayvanhaklari.org (Istanbul Animal Rights Association) etc.
Under our fostarage, there are many diseased, blind, paralyzed, and poor stray animals. Although all of them are neutered, there are more than 100 cats and 11 dogs living in our house. Most of them are found at the point of death on the streets, or lost their mothers when they are baby, or lost one of their organs. Since our house is well known among other animal lovers, there are also cats & dogs who were brought to us because they were driven out of their homes.
Our Dr.Vet is Mr. Bulent Dolen who is the owner of Ak-Vet Veterinary Clinic. www.akvet.net. We are very thankfull to him for helping our poor children with the cheapest treatment possible. However, it is still impossible for us to afford the health and nutrition expenses on our own. Everyweek there are minimum 2-3 surgeries or treatments and the expenses are too high.
